Designer Dresses In The Spotlight: Ian Stuart

Continuing with our series of reports showcasing the latest designer wedding dresses, we are thrilled to bring you these stunning images from Ian Stuart's recent White Gallery catwalk show - 'The Supernova' collection.

With a strong historical influence, taking inspiration from the renewed interest in costume and period dramas, the 2013 Ian Stuart collection effortlessly merges the old with the new, using a wonderful selection of fabrics to create stunning shapes and silhouettes which are sure to excite the next generation of fashion conscious brides.

In an exclusive interview with our Editor, Ian described the collection as "very whimsicle and romantic with lots of chalky, pastel colours which the customers have really liked. We've also had stripes, spots and different textured fabrics this season!"

Talking of his fashion show, Ian said, "we worked very hard to make the show beautiful in every possible way, although I'm always nervous - every single time! It was a beautiful show and everybody loved it so I’m very, very pleased."

And what a show it was! Accompanied by operatic arias, the full and flamboyant dresses wowed the audience with their breath-taking beauty. Layers of silk, tulle and lace were embellished with overblown flowers, oversized bows, ruching and draping to create a star-studded collection of dresses that are sure to set the standard for the season to come.  Most dramatic of all was the final dress of epic proportions featuring festoons of floral print and a flower embellished parasol.
