Farewell to Fall - how to squirrel away your autumn wedding stationery ideas as we say goodbye to autumn.
Autumn, or fall, as it is commonly called across the pond, is now giving way to winter, but before we forget about all that this wonderful season has to offer, I have squirreled together a small selection of my favourite wedding stationery designs. I have also asked a few of my favourite stationery designers to choose their favourites too.
Premier Portfolio stationery designer Lucy Boyle of Sticky Snail Designs shares her thoughts on autumn wedding stationery design ideas:
“Gone for the moment are the bright summery designs, reflecting lazy days and dizzy nights, honey bees and chilled glasses of Chardonnay. Instead we turn our creative minds to that of autumnal designs. Many have rich, warm tones and pallets of burnt orange, browns and scarlets. All are excellent examples of autumn themes and are popular choices. It is however, important to note that whilst these colours are fashionable in the months leading up to winter, it is often the design that carries the wow factor. The colour merely enhances it.
Sharp design, simple curves, understated elegance with a hint of 'the alternate colour spectrum' like aubergine and olive green, can in fact, give a more dramatic effect than a traditional pallet.
The same can be said of embellishments such as the iconic American maple leaf, a very popular and versatile design, either on its own or as part of an ensemble. ââ¬Â¨It is a true indication of autumn... but have you ever thought about more unusual but equally charming design elements? Simple images, for example, pinecones or an etched image of a dormouse. Start by collecting, fabrics, colour swatches, textures, like hessian and bark and think about autumnal woody aromas that may wish to have scent your reception. Keep it all together in a little folder until such time you have a pile of goodies to choose from.
They're clever little things those squirrels...”
There is a wealth of styles, designs and colours to choose from to reflect your wedding theme and personality. Embrace the abundance of autumn and celebrate the season of mist and mellow fruitfulness in all of its rich and varied glory!
Here are my favourite autumn wedding stationery designs from this wonderful season.
